A tavaszköltő vízimadarakat márciusban rajzoltam, aranyba hajló friss napfény sugaránál. A nádas fölött japán sármányok cikáznak, kékvízű medencében fehér hattyúk lubickolnak, éjfekete mongol kormoránok bukdácsolnak a víztükör-tűztükör fölé s alá.

❂ All these water-fowls I drew in march, at the fresh rays of the sun turning into the shades of gold. Above the reeds flash Japanese buntings, in basins of blue water paddle white swans, and Mongolian cormorants of black as the night dive stumble about the stretch of the water up and down.

A japán hattyú mintát egy úszómedence fenekén találtam, csempéből kirakva ezt a gyönyörű madáralakzatot. ことり vagyis kotori japánul azt jelenti "kis madár", a kis sármányokat e hagyományos aprómintás kimonó mintázatából ragadtam ki. A kormoránpáros egy csodálatos, XV. századi mongol gyapjúnemez faliszőnyeg központi motívuma. I found the pattern for the Japanese swan on the bottom of a swimming pool made out of colored tiles. ことり = kotori means "little bird" in Japanese and I picked the little buntings from a traditional kimono's miniature design. The couple of cormorants come from a beautiful felted carpet that was made in Mongolia in the 15th century. I made these unique pendants of shrinkplastic with my free-hand graphics adding Turkish and Japanese glass beads, silver and bronze attachments, tinkelings. GALLERY • LIKE • SHOPPING
